What's your favourite skyscraper/tall building?
Chrysler Building for me. Classic art deco look. Petronas towers also up there. Pardon the pun.

Also the Doddington & Rollo estate in Battersea looks good too, looks like its made of lego.

Oh and the Abraj Al Bait hotel in Mecca. Something about the sheer fuck-offness of it.

For me, Lincoln Cathedral looks better without the spire, in fact it improved it greatly

Thank you storm of 1549

Re: What's your favourite skyscraper/tall building?
Lincoln Cathedral was the tallest man-made structure in the world (beating the Great Pyramid) for 238 years until a storm sheared of the spire in 1549.

It has to be the twin towers.

A testament to the engineering genius of man. The fact they stood after being hit by jumbos validated the science that went into building these giants!

Shame about.......well........you know.

The Victoria Tower London SW1.

Often overlooked but never bettered Neo-Gothic masterpiece. When it opened 150 years ago it was the tallest square tower in the world. Think about that for a few seconds. The tallest in the world.

Dan. That was where that bar was. Got taken there after my first day of work in nyc. Fucking loved it. Looking down was awesome.

Went there many times during my stint there. Took my dad to the restaurant when he came to visit.

Know exactly what you mean about jumping. I can't comprehend the choice made to leap from there.

Still the Chrysler for me too.

One that impressed me from the inside (it has an ugly exterior) is the Jin Mao Tower in Shangai, home to the Grand Hyatt.

It has this ridiculous atrium, one of the tallest in the world. I think it extends over the top 30 floors. Just a mind boggling view.

View from the bar at the top is silly too. Really gives you an idea of the growth there. Been a while since I went, but there were skyscrapers popping up left, right and centre. Noticed the building sites were at work what seemed 24/7. Horrible fucking place, mind.

I like the CN tower in Toronto it has a glass floor and a decent bar with a view over the lake. It's a welcome break from the tedium that is Toronto

Twin Towers for me. Got taken there for dinner as a company prize back in 98 and again in 2000. By the entrance of the restaurant was a floor to ceiling window, which no-one but me in our group could confidently stride up to. I remember thinking at the time that no-one, no matter how desperate to die, would ever throw themselves from such a height.

The Q1 Tower in Surfer's Paradise is an impressive Aussie erection I've ascended.

Always liked the Natwest Tower when I was a lad.

Could not look any more "eastern European" if it tried.
